Welcome to an immersive online course in Interior Colour Design
Over the course of 10 inspiring weeks, you'll gain the knowledge, practical tools, and confidence to work with colour in a creative, intentional, and professional way. You'll learn the foundations of colour design, how to create harmonious and dynamic colour palettes, and how to apply them to real interior design projects.
This course is designed for interior designers, architects, decorators, and other creative professionals, but it is equally suited to passionate homeowners who want to deepen their understanding of colour and its transformative potential.
Perhaps you're an interior designer looking to feel more confident when guiding clients through colour choices while expanding your knowledge of colour psychology and colour history. Perhaps you're renovating your own home and want to create spaces with greater atmosphere, balance, and character, where every colour choice has purpose. Or maybe you're ready for a new creative direction and want to build a career centred around colour. Wherever you are on your journey, this course will give you a deeper, more conscious understanding of colour and how it shapes the spaces we live in.
A deep dive into colour psychology and neuroaesthetics
We begin by exploring how colour influences us on both an emotional and cognitive level. Colour has the power to shape perception, influence behaviour, and create distinct emotional experiences.
Drawing on the principles of neuroaesthetics, the field that explores how the brain responds to beauty and visual experience, you'll discover how different colours affect the nervous system and emotional wellbeing. Throughout the course, we'll explore how specific colour palettes can evoke calm, energy, creativity, or focus, and how these insights can be applied strategically in interior design and architecture to shape the way people experience a space.
By the end of the course, you'll have a thorough understanding of colour theory, how to create thoughtful colour schemes, how to select the right paint finishes and colours for different environments, and how colour influences both the function and emotional experience of a room.

Over the past 15 years as an interior designer, I have dedicated my career to studying colour and exploring the field of colour psychology. Through years of practice and research, I have developed a deep understanding of how colour influences our emotions, behaviour, and the way we experience the spaces around us. As a colour consultant, I help clients create harmonious and thoughtfully designed interiors where colour is not simply decorative, but an essential part of how a space functions, feels, and connects with the people who inhabit it.
Teaching is one of my greatest passions. I love inspiring architects, interior designers, and creative professionals to use colour with greater confidence and intention, discovering its remarkable ability to transform both spaces and the people who experience them.

Module 01
Introduction to Colour
Introduction to colour theory, providing a solid foundation in the role of colour and its influence across different contexts. We'll explore the functions of colour, the relationship between colour and science, key pioneers in the history of colour, and how colour shapes our perceptions, emotions, and decision-making.
Assignment: Discover your personal colour preferences and create a colour scheme for an apartment.
Module 03
Colour & Light
We'll explore the key factors that influence how colour is perceived, including room orientation, the effects of artificial lighting, metamerism, lighting distance and angle, and how these elements shape our experience of colour. You'll also be introduced to the fundamental lighting concepts of lumens, Kelvin, and the Colour Rendering Index (CRI)
Module 05
Colour history
A Journey Through the History of Colour
Explore the evolution of colour and interior style from the early 20th century, beginning with the organic forms and decorative details of Art Nouveau (Jugend), through the functional aesthetics of Modernism, and into today's era of individual expression, where personality and originality shape the design landscape.
Assignment: Design a living room or office inspired by one of the historical periods explored in the module.
Module 07
Residential Colour Design
A comprehensive overview of the entire colour design process, from colour and material analysis to evaluating room orientation and sightlines. Learn how to identify the character and style of a space, understand your client's needs, develop effective colour strategies, and select the most appropriate paint finish for each project.

Module 02
The NCS-System
An introduction to the NCS Colour System and colour combinations. Explore the fundamentals of colour systems, with a particular focus on the NCS Colour System, and learn how to use it effectively to identify, analyse, and combine colours with confidence.
Assignment: Create three colour schemes using the NCS Colour System.
Module 04
Colour pscyhology
Discover how colour influences our emotions, behaviour, and overall experience on both a psychological and neuroaesthetic level. Gain insight into how the brain responds to colour, how different hues can evoke feelings such as calm, energy, or creativity, and how intentional colour choices can support wellbeing and enhance the experience of a space.
Assignment: Create a colour scheme for a client based on the principles of colour psychology.
Module 06
Färg och trender
GÄSTFÖRELÄSARE: TRENDSTEFAN. Utforska hur färgtrender formas och utvecklas, samt vilka aktuella färgtrender som dominerar i år och hur de kan tillämpas i dina projekt. Lär dig hur du integrerar dessa trender på ett sätt som både känns modernt och samtidigt tidlöst, för att skapa harmoniska, hållbara miljöer som står sig över tid. Uppgift: Skapa ett sovrum eller en lobby/mässkoncept utifrån en av trenderna.
Module 08
Developing a Colour Concept
Learn how to create a professional mood board and gain valuable tips and practical guidance for developing successful colour schemes. In the final assignment, you'll bring together everything you've learned by creating a complete colour concept for an office, house, apartment, or public space.
Module 10
Working as a Colour Consultant
Gain insight into my best practices for working as a colour consultant. You'll learn how to build and develop your own niche, work confidently with clients, and navigate the challenges that can arise throughout the design process.
Once you have successfully completed and submitted all assignments, you'll receive a Certificate in Interior Colour Design, recognising your newly acquired knowledge and skills in professional colour design.
Learn how to create thoughtful and harmonious colour schemes for kitchens and bathrooms, balancing aesthetics, functionality, and material selection to achieve beautiful and lasting interiors.

Yes! Once you've completed and submitted all assignments, you'll receive a Certificate in Interior Colour Design, recognising your newly acquired knowledge and skills in professional colour design.
You'll also receive personal feedback from me on every assignment throughout the programme.
How is the programme structured?
The programme consists of 10 modules and 8 live online sessions. Each module includes a combination of pre-recorded video lessons, written course material, and practical assignments designed to help you apply what you've learned.
Throughout the programme, you'll complete assignments that you submit for personal feedback from me. We also review selected assignments during the live sessions, giving you the opportunity to learn from the work, ideas, and colour concepts of your fellow participants.
During the final live session, each participant presents their final project, bringing together everything they've learned throughout the programme.
